Manke Trucking, a leader in the Southern CA trucking service industry since 1976, is expanding our fleet and seeking full-time Forklift driver with Lumber experience. Compensation includes hourly pay; overtime pay where applicable. Summary: Yard Worker sorts and racks lumber according to load, customer, size, or other requirements. Stacks lumber as necessary, maintains, and cleans the yard as necessary.
· Assist in the loading and unloading of trailers and rail cars from 5,000 lbs. to 30,000 lbs.
· Inspect forklifts-DAILY, report issues on log and to the on-site supervisor
· Ensure all pre-loads are loaded on time.
· Safely unhook cables from rails cars using the man lift with proper safe equipment.
· Maintain and clean the storage yard to maintain a safe work environment.
· Assist in staging trucks in departure orders for following morning deliveries.
· Ensure all lumber is properly braced to prevent falling.
· Attend weekly and quarterly safety meetings
· Read bill of lading (POD), order forms, and invoices.
· Read and follow work and break schedules.
· Some overtime is required during peak hours.
· Demonstrate ability to adjust to sudden changes in operational goals/demands.
· Ability to work in varying temperatures and environments, based on the season.
