Weekend Shift Lead – CNC & Automation

Weekend Shift | 12-hour shift | 5 pm - 5 am
Hourly, Non-Exempt
Manitowoc Pattern & Machining is looking for a hands-on Weekend Shift Lead – CNC & Automation to support safe, efficient, and high-quality production operations on our newly launched weekend shift. This is a working lead role, ideal for an experienced CNC machinist who enjoys troubleshooting, mentoring others, and keeping production running smoothly during off shifts.

What You’ll Do

Operate CNC machines and automated equipment to meet production, quality, and safety goals

Serve as the on-shift technical lead for weekend production

Troubleshoot CNC machines, Fanuc controls, and robotic automation to minimize downtime

Perform job setups, verify programs, and make approved offsets or adjustments

Support and coach machine operators through on-the-job training

Monitor quality and production output and escalate concerns as needed

Complete production, quality, and downtime documentation

Enforce safety policies and ensure compliance with work instructions

Communicate shift status and handoffs to weekday leadership
What We’re Looking For
Required:
-
High school diploma or equivalent
-
Working knowledge of Fanuc CNC controls
-
Experience supporting or troubleshooting robotic or automated manufacturing equipment

Ability to read blueprints, work instructions, and quality documentation
Preferred:
-
Previous lead or informal leadership experience

3 years of CNC machining experience

Technical training or certification in CNC machining or automation

Experience in a low-mix, high-volume manufacturing environment
Physical & Work Environment
-
Standing and walking for extended periods during 12-hour shifts

Frequent use of hands, tools, and machine controls

Occasional lifting up to 20 lbs.

Production floor environment with noise, dust, and machinery
-
PPE required (safety glasses, safety shoes, gloves)
