Duties
- Assist with food preparation by chopping, slicing, and measuring ingredients according to recipes and standards
- Support the kitchen team in meal assembly and plating to ensure timely service
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and equipment in compliance with food safety regulations
- Handle food items safely during storage, preparation, and serving processes
- Aid in inventory organization and restocking supplies as needed to ensure smooth kitchen operations
- Follow proper knife skills for efficient and safe food handling
- Contribute to menu planning discussions by providing input on ingredient availability and preparation methods
Experience
- Prior experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is highly desirable
- Experience working in food service, restaurants, catering, or the food industry is preferred
- Knowledge of food safety practices and handling procedures is essential
- Familiarity with meal preparation, cooking techniques, and food presentation enhances your effectiveness in this role
- Basic culinary experience including knife skills and food handling is required
