Position

Manifold Bio is seeking a VP, Finance and Operations to own our strategic financial management, maintain compliance and deliver accurate financial reporting as we grow past 50 people. Additionally, we are looking for someone who would be able to flex into other operational needs, including overseeing legal, lab and business operations. Additionally, this position would be dedicated to fostering growth, promoting fiscal responsibility, and providing valuable insights to support informed decision-making across Manifold Bio. We are on an ambitious mission to redefine therapeutics discovery, and this position affects the entire operations of our company, requiring thoughtful long-term vision and strategic planning. Working closely with the CEO and leadership team, you will help Manifold Bio make the best possible decisions regarding financial runway, fund allocation, company growth and risk management. In addition to extensive experience in financial operations, the ideal candidate is highly collaborative and has deep empathy for scientists.

Responsibilities

• Provide executive leadership for all corporate and strategic finance functions, including FP&A, accounting, treasury, and risk management, to ensure financial health and operational alignment across the organization.
• Lead long-range financial planning and analysis, including budgeting, forecasting, scenario modeling, and capital allocation in partnership with the CEO and leadership team.
• Oversee financial reporting and communication with the Board of Directors, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and strategic insight.
• Develop and implement scalable systems and processes to support the company’s growth trajectory and operational efficiency.
• Drive operational excellence by overseeing key functions such as facilities and lab management, vendor and procurement strategy, business systems, and safety compliance.
• Partner with IT and information security teams to ensure technology infrastructure, data governance, and cybersecurity practices align with business priorities and compliance requirements.
• Support workforce planning and recruiting from a financial and strategic perspective, ensuring headcount decisions and organizational growth align with budget and company priorities.
• Implement and manage business continuity, compliance, and risk mitigation programs, ensuring operational resilience and regulatory adherence.
• Cultivate a culture of accountability and continuous improvement across finance and operations teams, emphasizing collaboration, transparency, and efficiency.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO and leadership team, providing financial and operational insight to drive strategic decision-making.
  
  

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related technical field.
• 10 years of progressive financial and operational leadership experience, ideally in biotechnology, life sciences, or a high-growth, innovation-driven environment.
• Proven track record of managing complex budgets, financial reporting, and multi-functional operations.
• Experience building and scaling financial infrastructure, systems, and teams in a dynamic, growing organization.
• Strong executive presence with the ability to lead cross-functional initiatives, influence at all levels, and communicate effectively with the Board and investors.
• Demonstrated ability to combine strategic vision with hands-on operational execution.
• Exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Passion for advancing scientific innovation and enabling teams to bring transformative medicines to patients.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience as a senior finance or operations leader in a growth-stage biotech or related sector.
• Deep experience in financial planning, capital strategy, and scenario modeling.
• Familiarity with GxP environments, laboratory operations, procurement systems, and facilities management.
• Demonstrated success leading cross-functional initiatives that integrate finance, operations, and technology strategy.
