Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and responsible individual to join our team as a Food Service Assistant at Manheim Township School District. This is a part-time position school term (10 month) position that requires working during school hours (8:45 AM- 2:30 PM). Food Service Assistants are responsible for many tasks related to the service of school meals including, but not limited to, food preparation and service, cashiering, dishwashing, and trash removal. The Food Service Assistant is expected to complete all tasks efficiently and with a positive attitude.
Responsibilities:
- Provide great customer service at all times.
- Set up the serving line, assemble proper serving utensils, maintain accurate temperature logs, clean up between serving times.
- Serve students utilizing proper portion control.
- Assist with food preparation.
- Perform cashiering duties in a fast-paced environment.
- Utilize proper food safety standards at all times.
- Wash and/or sweep floors and perform end-of-day cleanup.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Site Leader/Manager.
The individual works with other members of the Department/Building in meeting goals and objectives in support of the District mission to provide a social and educational environment for the students.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
