The Manheim Central School District has an opening for a Full-Time Assistant to the Assistant Principal at Doe Run Elementary starting in the the 2026-2027 school year.
This position is responsible for providing administrative and clerical support to the Assistant Principal and associated school programs. The role facilitates student-related communications, documentation, and logistics in support of discipline, scheduling, testing, and special events. While foundational responsibilities are common across levels, each school level includes unique duties specific to student and building needs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Provides clerical and administrative support to the Assistant Principal.
- Schedules appointments.
- Responsible for building usage.
- Assists in the processing and distribution of student disciplinary documentation.
- Maintains accurate and confidential student records and files.
- Answers phones and interacts with students, parents, staff, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
- Prepares correspondence and reports related to student behavior, attendance, and other assistant principal initiatives.
- Assists with standardized test coordination, logistics, and communications.
- Provides event coordination and logistical support for school-wide activities and programs.
- Supports the Assistant Principal in managing school communications.
- Develops and maintains a standard operating procedure manual for the position.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Assistant Principal or Principal, and occasionally the administrative assistant to the principal.
- Maintains effective working relationships with staff, students, families, and administrators with a focus on professionalism and confidentiality.
LEVEL-SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS:
Elementary School
- Supports behavioral interventions and student management programs.
- Tracks student behavior referrals and parent communication logs.
- Assists in organizing school-wide PBIS or student recognition initiatives. Provides administrative assistance for elementary-specific field trips and assemblies.
MINIMUM REQUIREMETS:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- One to three years of administrative or clerical experience in an office or school setting.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn additional software.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Ability to manage confidential and sensitive matters with discretion.
- Solid organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to handle emergency and crisis situations calmly and effectively.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Professional, courteous, and solution-oriented demeanor.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT : The Assistant to the Assistant Principal position is a ten (10) month position.
Full-Time, 10-Month Position
Hours: 7 a.m.-3 p.m. (with 1-hour unpaid break)
