Supervisory/Duties Responsibilities
Recruiting
- Oversee and implement all aspects of the recruiting process.
- Identify and evaluate prospective student athletes
- Engage in communication with the prospects, parents, coaches, and other advisors through extensive travel, written and verbal correspondence
- Attract potential student-athletes to Manhattanville University
- Communicate with Compliance Officer to ensure that all NCAA policies are followed
- Oversee and direct all aspects of coaching during practice and matches
- Enhance the development of the student-athletes golf skills through team practice and one-on-one instruction
- Ensure that proper safety procedures are followed by all student-athletes
- Work with athletics trainers and physicians to implement team wellness and conditioning programs
- Understand current and changing NCAA, Skyline Conference, Northeast Women's Golf Conference, and Manhattanville Compliance Policy and Procedures as they relate to the golf program
- Maintain consistent communication with Manhattanville's compliance staff and athletic administrators
- Fully comply with the rules, regulations, and policies of the NCAA, of the Skyline Conference, Northeast Women's Golf Conference, and of the college and its Athletic Department and take every reasonable precaution to ensure that all members of the soccer staff comply fully with such rules, regulations, and policies
- Monitor academic progress of student athletes
- Coordinate the program's fundraising activities alongside the Varsity team's goals
- Responsible for the scheduling of all contests and procurement of Driving Range and Golf Course Facilities for practices and matches
- Performs other additional duties as assigned
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
- Travel required for competitions and recruiting.
- Perform golf related physical tasks
- Knowledge of effective coaching techniques and best practices
- Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships with school administrators, parents, students, and alumni
- Ability to lead and work independently as well as within a team environment
- Ability to effectively communicate with student-athletes, coaches, athletic and university administration.
Education: Bachelor's Degree (required)
Experience
- Current knowledge of rules and policies of the NCAA Division III
- Intercollegiate coaching and playing experience
- Recruiting at a collegiate level
- CPR/AED Certified
- Valid Driver's License
- Ability to move sport related equipment such as ball carts, and cones.
