Scope and Purpose:

As ManhattanLife continues to grow, we are seeking a Data Analyst to join a new dynamic Data Analytics team at our Houston Corporate office. The Data Analyst reports to the Manager of our Data Analytics team and is responsible for reporting, analysis, and data file maintenance. In this role, you will work in a collaborative team environment to support and inform various departments related to our Marketing, Product Development, Actuarial, and Operational insurance functions. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Gather, understand, and manage stakeholders' business requirements, specifications, and operational needs as it relates to data analysis.
• Create and/or modify code to create queries using SQL, RStudio, or similar programming languages.
• Use various business intelligence tools to design, develop, and maintain customized reports and dashboards that include best practices for data visualizations while also embodying creativity and accuracy. 
• Present information to management teams to assist with identifying key issues and trends that will help inform the solution process.
• Complete special projects and tasks as assigned. 

Minimum Qualifications: 

Bachelor’s degree in business, technology, informatics, or a related field preferred. For non-degreed applicants, a minimum of 1-2 years of advanced querying/coding experience is required.
 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• At least 1-2 years of coding experience using R and SQL. 
• At least 1 year of experience using Power BI.
• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft tools including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Advanced skills with SQL, RStudio, Python, Tableau, and/or Power BI.
• Soft skills such as interpersonal skills, problem-solving skills, and time-management skills.
