VCA Vet Tech Academy Mentor Location: VCA Katonah Bedford Veterinary Center Full time, in-person position Compensation: $34 - $38 / hr based on qualifications and experience Do you have a passion for teaching others? The VCA Vet Tech Academy is seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician with previous training and leadership experience to take on the role of Academy Mentor in our new location - VCA Katonah Bedford Veterinary Center, Bedford Hills, NY. We need a mentor like you to help us support our students’ success. In this full-time position you will directly impact the education and careers of up-and-coming veterinary technicians. You will play a crucial role in supporting veterinary technician students who are developing their knowledge and skills and will help them navigate how to apply what they are learning to provide exceptional patient care. Qualifications to apply Maintains the credentials CVT, LVT or RVT Graduated from an AVMA accredited Veterinary Technology program Willingness and ability to apply for veterinary technician licensure in New York Previous experience in training and leadership preferred Previous experience working in specialty medicine preferred Advanced technical and nursing skills required Ability to lead in a positive, supportive and constructive manner Good interpersonal skills and ability to work with the public in a professional and respectful way Ability to adapt quickly to an ever-changing environment while maintaining calm and focus Position expectations Full time, in-person position Position is based in Bedford Hills, NY Class trips to NY based farms, large animal facilities, and other educational opportunities within driving distance may occur throughout the year. Pay range based on qualifications and experience - $34-38/hr Work week – Monday-Friday 8a-4p What makes a good mentor?
