Veterinary Assistant Experienced General Practice

VCA Colonial Animal Hospital is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our team in support our General Practice service. We are proud to be one of the premier providers of primary, specialty and emergency care located in the heart of the beautiful Finger Lakes region in Upstate New York. We serve our clients 24hrs a day 365 days a year. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about providing advanced care and management of patients in a specialty setting. We value exceptional client care and professionalism and are seeking like minded individuals The successful candidate will provide high quality veterinary medicine and patient care to both the general practice and emergency service —with guidance and mentorship from our LVT team In this position you will be supporting our Doctors and Technician team by creating a positive, low-stress atmosphere for our clients and patients. Duties will include: Greeting clients, taking medical history Updating clients and inputting medical records Patient assessment and restraint Maintaining medical records. Completing discharges Answering phone calls Filling prescriptions. Performing laboratory work and diagnostic imaging. Providing compassionate care for hospitalized pets.
