Job Title: Library Media Clerk
Job Brief:
- To contribute to the effective operation of the elementary school library media center so that it can play its effective part in the educational process.
Qualifications:
- Graduation from standard high school (or equivalent).
- Some knowledge of modern offices practices, procedures, and equipment.
- Some knowledge of business English, spelling, and arithmetic.
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to learn assigned clerical tasks readily and to adhere to prescribes departmental procedures.
- Ability to make routine arithmetical computations and tabulations accurately and with reasonable speed.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and the public.
- All USD 383 employees must pass a background check.
Salary:
- $12.00 - $14.00/hr.
- Level 1 Office Professional
- Placement within this range is based on relevant qualifications, including prior experience, education, and applicable certifications (e.g., bachelor's degree, advanced certification, bilingual proficiency, etc.).
Hours Per Day:
- Based on location. (40 hrs/wk)
Terms of Employment:
- Positions available during the regular school year.
- New employees go through a 45-day introductory period as part of onboarding after which benefits will begin, and leave can be used.
Reports To: School Librarian and Principal
Job Duties:
- Maintains circulation desk to assist students and teachers when checking out materials.
- Checks in and shelves books, audio-visual material, and equipment.
- Assists in processing materials added to school media centers. Maintains library and office filing system; works with library materials, including audio-visual material and equipment.
- Creates a variety of material, such as letters, bulletin boards, reports, memos, requisitions, etc., from rough drafts or corrected copy.
- Operates appropriate technology and software.
- Performs related work as required.
