This is an excellent time to join the Department of Education in the Kakos School of Arts and Sciences. The Education Department offers AAQEP accredited degrees including BS degrees which render students eligible for initial certification in Adolescent Education and Childhood Education upon graduation. We also offer 5-year BS/MS degrees in Special Education. Our education degrees lead to New York State teaching certifications.
Salary Range
Assistant Professor: ($76,000 - $80,000)
Associate Professor: ($93,000 - $100,000)
Professor: ($115,000 - $125,000)

Job Responsibilities
Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to the following:
- Teach courses at the undergraduate and graduate level in the Department of Education.
- Develop and maintain course materials, including syllabi, assignments, and assessments in alignment with program objectives.
- Model excellence in teaching.
- Advise between 25-35 students each semester.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Work collaboratively with the Education Department faculty in the following programs: Adolescence Education with Special Education, Childhood Education with Special Education and Graduate Special Education.
- Engage in scholarly research and contribute to the advancement of the field through publications, presentations and grant activity.
- Provide professional service to the department and University.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Promote and model excellence in teaching and learning in the Department.
- Manage all aspects of graduate program administration, advisement, and communication.
- Lead program revision efforts to develop new Students with Disabilities (SWD) All Grades masters and accelerated masters programs aligned with NYSED requirements
- Create and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with partner schools.
- Prepare and submit reports for program accreditation and state registration.
- Support the recruitment and retention of students.
- Other duties as assigned.
- The successful candidate must ascribe to the Lasallian mission.
- Hold a Doctorate in special education.
- Experience in teaching and administration in a higher education context.
- Preference will be given to candidates with a strong knowledge of New York State Education Standards and New York City schools.
