DESCRIPTION
Manhattan Theatre Club (MTC), a Tony Award–winning nonprofit theatre dedicated to the production of contemporary plays and musicals, seeks a full time General Management Associate.
Founded in 1970, MTC has been the creative and artistic home for America’s most gifted theatrical artists, producing works of the highest quality by contemporary American and international playwrights. MTC produces a season of plays annually in Broadway's Samuel J. Friedman Theatre on West 47th Street and off-Broadway at the historic NY City Center complex on West 55th Street.
The General Management Associate reports to the General Manager and has a significant role in supporting the General Manager and Associate General Manager, interacting regularly with all departments in the organization and maintaining extensive contact with MTC’s external partners.
The General Management Associate is responsible for negotiating and drafting contracts for assistant-level creative team members, and for assisting in the negotiation, drafting, and execution of creative contracts, licenses and production rental contracts. The Associate facilitates actor payroll and artist payments for all new play development, maintains production budgets for the General Management office and assists company managers in the office and occasionally at the theaters.
The General Management Associate is also responsible for assisting in all General Management Office activities, including but not limited to scheduling meetings, managing phone calls, fielding inquiries, trafficking correspondence, and maintaining all General Management files.
Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills and absolute attention to detail are essential. Previous theatrical office experience preferred. Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite required.
This is a full time, salaried position paying $52,500 with full benefits package including: group health insurance with options for spousal, family and/or domestic partner coverage, voluntary dental coverage, basic life and long term disability insurance, employer-funded pension, paid time off and optional 401(K) and flex savings plans for healthcare, dependent care and commuting expenses.
