Role Description The Surgical Technician at Manhattan Surgical Care is a full-time, on-site role based in New York, NY. This position is responsible for preparing operating rooms for cosmetic and oculofacial procedures, including setting up instruments, supplies, and equipment according to surgical protocols. The Surgical Technician assists surgeons during procedures by passing instruments, maintaining sterile fields, and anticipating surgical needs. Daily responsibilities include proper sterilization and handling of instruments, ensuring adherence to infection control standards, and supporting pre- and post-operative workflows. The role also involves working collaboratively with surgeons, nurses, and administrative staff to promote efficient operations and a safe, respectful environment for patients.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess skills in Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting to safely support surgeons during cosmetic and oculofacial procedures.
- Candidates should possess skills related to Operating Room procedures, including room setup, maintaining sterile fields, and familiarity with OR safety protocols.
- Candidates should possess foundational knowledge of Medicine relevant to surgical care, including basic anatomy, terminology, and patient safety principles.
- Candidates should possess skills in Sterilization processes, including instrument cleaning, packaging, and operation of sterilization equipment in compliance with infection control standards.
- Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program or equivalent training; certification (e.g., CST) preferred.
- Previous experience as a Surgical Technician or similar role, ideally in cosmetic, ophthalmic, or outpatient surgical settings.
- Strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, and ability to follow established protocols and surgeon instructions accurately.
