Position Summary

Manhattan Strategy Group (MSG) is working a proposal and seeking Education Technical Assistance Specialists to support a federally funded education technical assistance and capacity-building initiatives serving state, regional, local, and/or tribal educational agencies (SEAs, REAs, LEAs, and/or TEAs), schools, educators, and other education stakeholders nationwide.

The Education Technical Assistance Specialists provide direct support to education agencies and partners through technical assistance delivery, professional learning, facilitation, research synthesis, resource development, implementation support, and continuous improvement activities. Specialists may support projects focused on literacy, mathematics, educator effectiveness, school improvement, student engagement, career readiness, implementation science, strategic staffing, policy development and alignment, or related education priorities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical assistance and capacity-building support to education agencies, schools, and partner organizations.
  • Facilitate virtual and in-person meetings, trainings, workshops, communities of practice, and coaching sessions.
  • Support development of client-driven service plans, implementation support, and improvement strategies.
  • Conduct research, environmental scans, needs assessments, literature reviews, and evidence syntheses.
  • Develop high-quality technical assistance products, including toolkits, briefs, guides, presentations, training materials, and implementation resources.
  • Assist with collection, analysis, interpretation, and reporting of qualitative and quantitative data to support project improvement and performance monitoring.
  • Collaborate with project leadership, subject matter experts, and partner organizations to support coordinated service delivery.
  • Support implementation of evidence-based practices and continuous improvement processes.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders and respond to technical assistance requests in a timely manner.
  • Contribute to project reporting, communications, knowledge management, dissemination, and meeting coordination activities.
  • Participate in proposal development, research, staffing, and other organizational initiatives as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, social sciences, public policy, public administration, communications, research/evaluation, or related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience supporting education programs, technical assistance initiatives, research projects, school improvement efforts, or professional learning activities.
  • Demonstrated practitioner experience in K–12 education, school improvement, instructional support, technical assistance, research, policy implementation, or program administration within or in direct partnership with SEAs, REAs, TEAs, LEAs, schools, or education nonprofits.
  • Knowledge of K–12 education systems, federal education programs, or evidence-based education practices.
  • Experience facilitating meetings, trainings, webinars, or stakeholder engagement activities.
  • Strong writing, communication, organization, and project coordination skills.
  • Ability to analyze information and translate research into actionable guidance and practical tools.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, virtual collaboration platforms, and project management tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to travel periodically for meetings, trainings, or client support.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in education or related field.
  • Experience supporting federally funded contracts, grants, cooperative agreements, or technical assistance centers.
  • Experience supporting system-level implementation efforts within SEAs, REAs, LEAs, TEAs, or statewide/regional education initiatives.
  • Expertise in one or more content areas such as literacy, mathematics, MTSS, school improvement, implementation science, educator effectiveness, career readiness, or family engagement.
  • Experience with data visualization, evaluation, continuous improvement, or performance management systems.
  • Familiarity with adult learning principles, coaching models, or implementation support strategies.
