Key Responsibilities
Data Project Leadership
- Lead and manage multiple concurrent data projects using Agile and iterative project management methodologies.
- Establish project priorities, manage backlogs, define milestones, and monitor project performance.
- Supervise data team members (analysts, specialists, data entry support).
- Develop performance measures and metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of data services and solutions.
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable data architectures and data pipelines.
- Develop and manage integrations between federal systems and operational platforms.
- Support API development, automation processes, and cloud-based data solutions.
- Maintain and enhance data feeds between enterprise systems and workflow management tools.
- Design ETL processes that improve data accessibility, integrity, and usability.
- Implement automated reporting and notification systems.
- Apply emerging technologies, including AI-enabled processes where appropriate, to improve efficiency.
- Support modernization efforts that improve operational effectiveness and decision support capabilities.
- Ensure compliance with federal data governance, privacy, security, and records management requirements.
- Maintain technical documentation, system diagrams, data dictionaries, and knowledge transfer materials.
- Promote data quality, standardization, and consistent use of enterprise data assets.
- BA/BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or related field.
- Minimum 10 years of progressive professional experience in data engineering and data management.
- Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience.
- Advanced proficiency in SQL, Python, ETL development, API integration, and database design.
- Experience with AWS and/or Azure cloud environments.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Agile or Scrum certification.
- Experience supporting federal information systems.
