Inventory Specialist – Manhattan Steel Doors

Overview:
We’re looking for a detail-oriented, dependable Inventory Specialist to help our growing team stay organized and efficient. This role supports our fabrication and finishing teams by tracking, managing, and restocking all hardware, shop consumables, and general supplies on Barry’s side of operations. The right person will take ownership of the system, ensure shelves stay full and organized, and help the shop run smoothly.
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate counts of hardware, fasteners, shop consumables, and other stocked materials.
- Perform weekly inventory audits and update records in Sortly and Excel.
- Restock items as needed, ensuring key materials are always available.
- Prepare and place purchase orders with approved vendors as directed by the Operations Manager.
- Label, organize, and maintain clean, logical storage systems for all inventoried items.
- Assist with incoming deliveries—checking for accuracy, labeling, and putting away.
- Track usage trends and alert management when materials are running low or overstocked.
- Maintain accountability for cleanliness and organization in storage and supply areas.
- Work closely with the Operations Manager and fabrication team to ensure all departments are stocked and ready for production needs.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Basic proficiency with Sortly, Excel, and general computer data entry.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Able to lift and move boxes, bins, and supplies as part of daily work.
- Self-starter who can take ownership of a process and work independently.
- Dependable, punctual, and committed to maintaining a clean and professional shop environment.
Success Looks Like After 90 days, the inventory areas are clean, labeled, and easy to navigate. Sortly is consistently updated. Orders are timely and accurate. The team always has what they need—and everyone knows who’s keeping it that way.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
