Manhattan Orthopedic Care is seeking a dependable, compassionate and detail-oriented Patient Care Coordinator to join our team. We are looking for someone with exceptional verbal communication skills, a professional and empathetic approach to patient interactions and a willingness to learn and grow within a medical office setting.
The ideal candidate is organized, comfortable using computers and able to multitask while ensuring patients receive excellent service and support.
Responsibilities
- Assist with answering incoming phone calls and directing inquiries appropriately.
- Schedule and manage patient appointments.
- Relay messages accurately between patients, providers, and staff.
- Respond to emails and assist with patient and provider portals.
- Assist with insurance verifications and eligibility checks.
- Learn and navigate office software and portals.
- Maintain accurate patient information and follow up on outstanding tasks as needed.
- Provide courteous, professional, and empathetic service to patients.
Qualifications:
- Exceptional verbal communication and active listening skills.
- Dependable, punctual and professional.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Empathetic and patient-focused, with a positive attitude.
- Comfortable with computers and learning new technology.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities and work well with a team.
- Previous medical office, healthcare administration or customer service experience is preferred.
- Experience with insurance verification or electronic medical record systems is a plus, but willingness to learn is essential.
