What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Admissions position at Manhattan Christian College?
PURPOSE: To lead the efforts of the college to recruit students in both the traditional and Thunder Online programs.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervisory:
Supervise Admissions Staff.
General:
1. Lead Strategic Enrollment Initiative in conjunction with VP for Student Life.
2. Lead the Admissions staff and coordinate the flow of work among the staff including
a. On Campus activities coordinated by the Admissions Department.
b. Lead the coordination of recruiting territories and travel schedule for admissions department.
c. The development and implementation of a marketing strategy promoting MCC.
d. Replies to calls, letters and cards received from students, churches, ministers, HS counselors, or other interested individuals.
e. Campus Visit Days.
f. College Fairs.
g. Camp Team Program.
3. Authorize budgeted expenditures for the department.
4. Research new recruiting ideas to incorporate in the strategic enrollment plan.
5. Maintain all data important to recruiting of students and regularly assess the Enrollment Plan and actions for productivity.
6. Provide regular reports to the VP for Student Life as requested on all recruiting goals, activity, and results.
7. Promote MCC enthusiastically and with purpose to potential students.
8. Make reports to the VP for Student Life on accomplishments and goals in conjunction with the meetings of the Board of Trustees.
9. Ensure that an annual performance evaluation is conducted of all Admissions Department personnel.
10. Be available for travel associated with this role.
11. Be an active part of the MCC community on campus and help as needed providing appropriate care for students.
12. Any other duties and responsibilities necessary to further the mission of MCC and/or advance the Admissions Department.

The Director of Admissions reports to the Vice President for Student Life.

· Committed to the mission of the college.
· Be willing and able to travel to promote the college to potential students.
· Strong people skills and able to relate to people of all ages.
· Has a proficiency in software pertinent to the role.
· Be an effective motivator and manager of people.
· Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred
· Ability to effectively communicate with internal and external constituencies.
· Have the necessary people skills to lead the department in customer service and work jointly with other departments.
· Possess the following personal characteristics: self-motivated, high energy, enjoys a challenge, takes charge of an area and develops it to its fullest potential, creative in finding ways to get things done, a team-player and the ability to make tough decisions with firmness and a positive spirit.
