Job Overview
Manhattan Bagel is seeking friendly, energetic, and detail-oriented Team Members to join our vibrant café team. As a key part of our customer service experience, you will be responsible for preparing food, handling transactions, and ensuring a clean and welcoming environment. Prior experience in food preparation or retail is a plus, but we welcome motivated individuals eager to learn.
Duties
- Prepare a variety of bagels, sandwiches, and other menu items following established recipes and safety standards
- Operate POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS for order processing and payment handling
- Provide exceptional customer service by taking orders, answering questions, and upselling menu items to enhance guest experience
- Handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently, including cash handling and basic math calculations
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the café area, including food prep stations, dining space, and equipment in compliance with food safety standards
- Restock supplies as needed and assist with food handling, bussing tables, and general sanitation duties
- Manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure quick service without compromising quality
- Follow all health and safety regulations related to food handling and sanitation
Experience
- Previous experience in food preparation or food service environments such as quick service restaurants, cafés, or grocery stores is preferred but not required
- Familiarity with POS systems like Aloha POS or Micros POS is advantageous
- Experience in cashiering, serving, or retail math helps ensure accurate transactions and upselling skills
- Knowledge of food safety standards and sanitation procedures is beneficial
- Strong time management skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly attitude and team-oriented mindset
