Global Tax Services – Relief at Source & Reclaim Operations
Position Summary:
Global Tax Services supports clients through complex international tax relief processes related to ADRs and ordinary securities. The Relief at Source and Reclaim Operations teams work together to help clients obtain appropriate tax treatment under applicable market rules and Double Taxation Treaties while maintaining strong controls, accurate documentation, and timely execution.
The consultant will support both preventative tax relief activities before income payments are made and post-payment reclaim activities when excess withholding tax must be recovered.
Relief at Source
- Review client eligibility and documentation for reduced withholding tax treatment.
- Prepare, validate, and track market-specific tax forms, certifications, and supporting documentation.
- Monitor income events, market deadlines, and custodian requirements.
- Support onboarding documentation for future tax relief opportunities.
- Handle urgent documentation requests and eligibility validations.
- Work with clients, custodians, and internal teams to resolve documentation gaps and tax-service issues.
Reclaim Operations
- Review reclaim eligibility after income payments to recover excess withholding tax.
- Prepare, submit, and monitor tax reclaim packages.
- Obtain certificates of residency, tax forms, and supporting documentation.
- Track claims through filing, payment, rejection, resubmission, and closure.
- Research reclaim rejections and coordinate corrective actions.
- Work with custodians, tax authorities, clients, and internal stakeholders on exceptions and payment validation.
Key Qualifications:
- 1–2 years of relevant experience
- Experience with Tax Relief at Source and Tax Reclaim
- Knowledge of custody operations and/or securities operations
- Exposure to withholding tax, ADRs, ordinary securities, or Double Taxation Treaties preferred
- Strong attention to detail and documentation skills
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced operational environment
- Strong communication and follow-up skills
- Experience working with operational systems, trackers, and documentation repositories
