This is a Sr engineering opportunity within our West Coast Power Division. Our team has a steadily growing project pipeline across utility and industrial power projects. This position has been created to increase our delivery capabilities and build out our technical expertise.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution (Master’s degree preferred).
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required or ability to obtain within a defined timeframe.
Experience
- Minimum 10–15 years of progressive experience in power system engineering, with a strong focus on power system studies and Power system Design.
- Demonstrated experience supporting industrial, utility, generation, renewable, and data center power systems.
- Proven ability to lead and review complex studies independently and serve as a technical authority on power system behavior.
Technical Expertise – Power System Studies
- Expert-level knowledge and hands-on execution of:
- Load flow / power flow analysis
- Short-circuit and equipment duty evaluations (ANSI & IEC)
- Arc flash hazard analysis (IEEE 1584, NFPA 70E)
- Motor starting and voltage drop studies
- Protection coordination and relay settings
- Transient stability and dynamic studies (where applicable)
- Harmonic analysis and power quality assessment
- Electrical Design
- Engineer Electrical Design package including for Medium and Low voltage system
- Single line Diagram
- 3-Line Diagram
- Schematic Diagram
- Grounding Drawing
- Conduit/Cable Plans
- Area Classification Drawings
- Panel Schedule
- Equipment Datasheet/Specification
- Write FAT and Switching Procedure
- Attend FAT
- Guide Construction team during Construction phase by providing timely responses to RFI
- Engineer Electrical Design package including for Medium and Low voltage system
Software Proficiency
- Advanced proficiency in industry-standard power system analysis tools, including:
- ETAP (preferred primary platform)
- EasyPower
- SKM Power*Tools
- MS-Office

- Ability to:
- Develop and maintain large, complex system models
- Perform cross-platform study validation and benchmarking
- Review and audit third-party study models and assumptions
- Familiarity with protection relay software (SEL, GE, etc.) is strongly preferred.

- Ability to interface effectively with clients, utilities, EPCs, and regulatory bodies.
- Provides technical leadership for proposal development, including defining study scope, assumptions, schedules, and preparing engineering labor estimates and technical narratives.
Communication & Documentation
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to produce clear, defensible study reports suitable for:
- Utility submittals
- AHJ approval
- Client
- Experience presenting technical findings to non-technical stakeholders.
Salary : $160,000 - $180,000
