About Mane Up Memphis™

Mane Up Memphis™ is a nonprofit community development health hub dedicated to cultivating youth, young adults, and families to heal emotionally and grow financially, building stronger and more stable communities.

Through preventive education, outpatient behavioral health services, financial education, and community wellness initiatives, Mane Up Memphis™ supports individuals in developing healthier coping skills, strengthening emotional well-being, and building more stable futures.

Mane Mindscape™ is our emerging outpatient behavioral health service, providing trauma-informed therapeutic care to children, adolescents, young adults, women, and families.

As our healthcare operations expand, we are seeking qualified professionals who want to contribute their knowledge, leadership abilities, and professional judgment to the development of a growing outpatient facility.

Position Summary

Mane Up Memphis™ is seeking a knowledgeable, independently motivated, and operationally capable Clinical Director to assume responsibility for the daily management and clinical operations of Mane Mindscape™.

The Clinical Director will independently oversee the outpatient facility, including clinical service delivery, staff supervision and accountability, scheduling coordination, documentation compliance, client care processes, facility readiness, and implementation of organizational policies.

This position requires an individual who can make sound operational and clinical decisions, establish effective procedures, identify and resolve problems, and maintain consistent facility operations without requiring continuous direction from executive leadership.

The Clinical Director reports to the Executive Director and is expected to maintain professional communication regarding significant operational developments, regulatory concerns, staffing matters, and organizational priorities.

For behavioral health crises requiring emergency intervention, external referrals, or coordination with specialized services, the Clinical Director will exercise appropriate clinical judgment, initiate established crisis-response procedures, and collaborate with the Executive Director as organizational escalation or coordination is needed. Immediate safety actions must not be delayed while awaiting executive approval.

We welcome emerging clinical leaders who possess the qualifications, clinical knowledge, and professional maturity to manage an outpatient facility, even if they have not previously held the title of Clinical Director.

  • Identify and resolve routine operational problems without unnecessary executive intervention.
  • Maintain organized procedures for opening, operating, and closing the outpatient facility.
  • Monitor client appointment capacity, staff availability, service interruptions, and scheduling concerns.
  • Ensure the facility is prepared to provide consistent and appropriate outpatient services.
  • Communicate significant operational risks, unresolved resource needs, and matters requiring organizational authorization to the Executive Director.

Clinical Leadership & Service Oversight

  • Direct the clinical operations and service-delivery standards of Mane Mindscape™.

  • Oversee the quality, appropriateness, and continuity of outpatient behavioral health services.

  • Coordinate significant employment actions and matters outside delegated authority with the Executive Director and designated human resources personnel.
  • Maintain a professional, supportive, and accountable clinical work environment.

Formal clinical supervision toward independent licensure is not automatically included in this position. Such supervision must be separately authorized and meet applicable Tennessee requirements.

  • Review crisis documentation, follow-up procedures, and continuity-of-care arrangements.
  • Identify and address weaknesses in facility crisis-response protocols.

Mane Mindscape™ does not provide inpatient hospitalization, psychiatric medication prescribing, or continuous suicide-watch services.

  • Establish procedures for missed appointments, cancellations, treatment interruptions, and follow-up.
  • Monitor client service concerns and facilitate appropriate resolution.
  • Maintain professional standards for client communication, confidentiality, and treatment coordination.

Clinical Systems & Organizational Development

  • Maintain effective clinical workflows using SimplePractice or other approved Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
  • Develop and improve clinical forms, documentation templates, procedures, and operational tools.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce unnecessary administrative burdens, and strengthen clinical accountability.
  • Monitor clinical performance indicators, service capacity, and operational trends.
  • Prepare relevant clinical operations updates for executive leadership.

Compensation & Career Development

Hourly Compensation: $30.00

Mane Up Memphis™ is an emerging healthcare operation. Our current compensation reflects this stage of organizational development and may not be competitive with established healthcare systems or larger clinical organizations.

We are transparent about our compensation and the responsibilities associated with this position.

What we offer is the opportunity to independently lead an emerging outpatient behavioral health facility, establish clinical systems, develop professional leadership experience, and contribute directly to the growth of an expanding organization.

The Clinical Director will have meaningful responsibility for clinical operations and opportunities to build experience in healthcare leadership, regulatory compliance, staff management, quality improvement, and organizational development.

As Mane Mindscape™ grows, additional career opportunities may emerge. Future advancement and compensation changes are dependent on organizational needs and resources and are not guaranteed.

We are seeking a qualified professional who values meaningful responsibility, professional growth, and the opportunity to help establish a sustainable healthcare service.

Our Workplace Philosophy

We want employees to thrive—not simply exist, perform, or survive the workday.

Mane Up Memphis™ is committed to building a professional environment that values psychological safety, cultural authenticity, meaningful work, manageable workloads, and sustainable expectations.

We do not seek to police employees’ natural vernacular, cultural identities, personalities, or ordinary emotional expression.

We recognize that professionalism is demonstrated through competence, ethical conduct, reliability, sound judgment, respectful communication, and accountability—not through requiring employees to suppress their individuality.

We encourage employees to communicate concerns, contribute ideas, exercise professional judgment, and grow into leadership responsibilities.

The Clinical Director will play an important role in establishing this workplace culture within Mane Mindscape™, ensuring that clinical personnel are supported while maintaining appropriate professional standards and client safety.

Schedule & Work Environment

This is a full-time, in-person position based in Memphis, Tennessee.

Standard Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, with a one-hour unpaid meal break.

The Clinical Director is responsible for independently maintaining daily facility operations during assigned working hours.

The position is primarily focused on clinical leadership, facility management, personnel oversight, and operational accountability rather than maintaining a routine psychotherapy caseload.
