What You’ll Do
- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of engineers building core platform functionality and AI workflows
- Partner closely with Product, Design, and Forward Deployed Engineering to prioritize work and drive execution
- Maintain a high bar for technical design, system architecture, and engineering quality
- Help scale our engineering culture and team through recruiting, onboarding, and performance development
- Foster a fast-paced but sustainable environment where engineers are empowered to do their best work
- Contribute to strategic planning and help shape Mandolin’s technical roadmap as we expand into new verticals
- 5 years of engineering management experience in a fast-paced environment
- Track record of leading teams that ship complex, production-grade systems
- Strong technical background with the ability to go deep in backend systems, infrastructure, or AI/ML tooling
- Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, and customer-facing teams
- Excellent communication, prioritization, and organizational skills in ambiguous, fast-changing contexts
- Experience at an early-stage startup or in the healthcare/healthtech space
- Exposure to LLMs, agent frameworks, and AI infrastructure
- Familiarity with modern cloud platforms, data pipelines, and secure integrations in regulated environments
- Strong opinions on team processes, and the humility to evolve them as the company scales
