What are the responsibilities and job description for the Classified Substitute - Nutrition Services, Custodial Services and Paraprofessional Support position at MANDAN PUBLIC SCHOOL DISTRICT?
Mandan Public Schools (MPS) is currently hiring Classified Substitutes to support all MPS buildings. We are looking for substitutes in the areas of Nutrition Services, Custodial Services, and Paraprofessional Support.
Purpose:
Classified Substitutes play a vital role in supporting the daily operations of Mandan Public Schools by filling in for staff absences in Nutrition Services, Custodial Services, and Paraprofessional roles. Substitutes help maintain a safe, clean, and productive environment that supports student learning and well-being.
Substitute Status Requirement:
If a substitute does not accept or complete an assignment within one full year, they will be removed from the active substitute system and required to reapply and complete updated hiring paperwork.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Perform the duties of the absent staff member in Nutrition Services, Custodial Services, or as a Paraprofessional.

Follow all directions, procedures, and schedules provided by building staff.

Collaborate with building administrators and team members to ensure daily tasks are completed.

Maintain a clean, safe, and respectful environment for students and staff.

Assist students as directed, including supporting classroom activities and supervising student behavior (Paraprofessional roles).

Handle food preparation, service, and cleanup in accordance with safety and hygiene standards (Nutrition Services roles).

Perform cleaning and maintenance tasks to keep facilities safe and functional (Custodial roles).

Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all district policies and procedures.

Report any concerns or incidents to the appropriate supervisor.

Demonstrate professionalism, reliability, and flexibility in all assignments.

Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Must be at least 18 years of age.

Ability to follow oral and written directions.

Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with students and staff.
