School Counselor
2026-2027 School year; 194 contract days, 100% FTE
Location: Mandan High School
Salary: Starting $59,526 for Master's degree. Full benefit package included.
Position Summary:
Mandan Public Schools is currently seeking a School Counselor at Mandan High School. The Mandan Public School Counseling Program promotes the development of productive and responsible citizens by ensuring the academic, career, and personal/social growth of all students. In partnership with parents and school personnel, the counseling program provides programs and services to enhance the educational process of all students.

- Provide short-term individual counseling to students
- Assist students with curriculum, career, and scholarship opportunities
- Lead small group counseling sessions for students for social and emotional concerns as needed

- Guide each student to choose courses consistent with His/Her/their interests, abilities, and career plans

Consult with parents and teachers regarding a student's social, emotional, academic, or behavioral concerns
- Help students develop post-secondary educational, military or work force plans
- Refer students and parents to community agencies and services for extra help and support
- Consult with and serve as a resource for students, staff and parents regarding planning or promoting programs which enhance the academic, social, or emotional growth of students

Qualifications:
- Must hold appropriate certification in School Counseling from the ND Department of Public Instruction and a teaching license from the ND Education and Practice Board. Additional training and certifications may be required for some incumbents.
