Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Submitted resumes should show work in Shipping & Receiving and not just Material Handling.
· Prepares items to be shipped out confirming items are appropriately packaged and prepared per customer requirements; confirms count against work orders, packing slips, or other records to ascertain and confirm accuracy of quantity, destination, and routing
· Receives and unloads incoming materials, verifying information on packing slip with purchase orders, work orders, or other records
· May perform quality and/or inventory checks on incoming materials may include verifying weight and other specifications of parts and verifying condition of parts; rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages
· Operates fork truck or uses hand truck or other equipment to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage or work area.
· Completes inventory of items received by performing manual counts, physical sorts, preparation of labels, and unpacking of items as necessary
· Inspects incoming and outgoing shipments for damages or defects; recording discrepancies or defects and notifies appropriate management
· Delivers items to requisitioning departments per proper procedure/policy
· Tracks incoming/outgoing shipments for customers as needed; communicate known delays to appropriate management
· Maintain professionalism and courtesy when communicating with customers, suppliers, and vendors
· Maintain ONRAMP database and shipping/receiving records; preparing routine reports as requested
· May operate dolly, pallet jack, forklift and other heavy equipment/machinery to load/unload supplies and equipment
· Expected to know and abide by Quality policy and relevant quality objectives as well as understanding the importance of QMS, it’s improvements, principles and implications if not followed as directed
· Understand and follow customer requirements and process for non-conforming parts
· Lead by example in following company policies, procedures, and expected standards of quality, safe working environment, continuous improvement, and supporting the organization’s mission, vision, and values
· May perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Job Requirements
· High School Diploma or GED; may be substituted for relevant experience
· Physical ability to perform essential functions of job with or without reasonable accommodations
· Ability to operate forklift and other required equipment
· Ability to read, write, understand and follow directions given either verbally or in writing
· At least one year of previous experience in shipping/receiving role preferred
Qualifications - Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
· At least one year of previous experience directly related to duties/responsibilities specified
· Previous experience in manufacturing environment preferred
· Must be able to understand, maintain, and follow quality and safety standards, procedures, and policies
· Computer proficiency at a level to learn and navigate our in house ERP system
· Knowledge of shipping/receiving procedures
· Must be able to receive, track and distribute materials, supplies, and/or equipment
· Ability to prioritize and multi-task and work independently
· Display attention to detail when reading, sorting, counting, and verifying numbers and information (written or verbal)
· Must be able to lift and manipulate heavy objects
· Proficient in basic arithmetic
· Use problem solving and troubleshooting skills to resolve issues
· Ability to professionally and effectively communicate with management, colleagues, vendors, suppliers and customers
· Application of common sense and reasoning needed to carry out instructions provided verbally or in writing, both formally or informally
Physical/Environmental Conditions:
· May be exposed to unusual elements and conditions including extreme temperatures, oil, dust, dirt, metal shavings, loud noises, confined spaces, chemicals, trip and fall hazards, moving parts and equipment, airborne particles and allergens, exposure to overhead equipment and cranes
· Position requires long periods of standing, sitting, and/or walking
· Position may require heavy lifting from minimum of 30lbs. without assistance or up to 100 lbs. with equipment assistance
· May require bending, squatting, kneeling, crawling, crouching
· Consistent use of computer and other electrical equipment that could cause eye strain
