Position Overview:

We are seeking a driven and customer-focused Lead Salesman to join our sales team. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of food industry expertise and proven sales skills to help drive revenue and foster strong customer relationships. As the Lead Salesman, you will play a pivotal role in executing sales strategies, supporting team goals, and representing our brand.


Key Responsibilities:


Sales Execution

  • Build and maintain relationships with purchasing decision-makers, including restaurant owners, chefs, kitchen managers, shop owners and larger food companies/suppliers.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including making "cold" calls to prospective clients.
  • Demonstrate the ability to sell value above price by highlighting the quality and benefits of our products.
  • Assist customers in identifying comparable products or substitutes for their current needs.

Customer Support & Collections

  • Ensure excellent customer service to establish long-term partnerships.
  • Monitor collections to ensure timely payments, maintaining strong client relationships.

Team Collaboration

  • Collaborate with the sales team, providing leadership and support to achieve shared goals.
  • Manage and mentor a small sales team of 1-2 individuals, ensuring team targets are met.
  • Work closely with production management, supervisory staff, customer service representatives, and delivery drivers to ensure smooth operations.



Operational Responsibilities:


  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Provide feedback to improve product offerings and operational processes.


Qualifications:


Experience:

  • At least experience in any type of food industry would be a plus.
  • Proven success in food sales, with a strong ability to communicate with decision-makers.
  • Familiarity with the small industrial business environment is a plus.
  • Degree in Business or Sales & Marketing is preferred.

Skills:

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to sell value over price and build lasting customer relationships.
  • Comfortable managing collections and resolving payment issues.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook tools.
  • Must be a fast learner, flexible with scheduling, and adaptable to a non-corporate environment.
