What are the responsibilities and job description for the Family Law Paralegal position at Mancini Provenzano & Futtner LLC?
Mancini, Provenzano & Futtner LLC is a locally owned, central Connecticut law firm serving clients in family law, divorce, custody, personal injury, criminal, civil, and real estate matters. We are dedicated to actively protecting our clients’ legal rights and making the legal process as comfortable and approachable as possible for the individuals and families we serve.
We are seeking a full-time Family Law Paralegal to support our growing family law and divorce practice. This is an excellent opportunity for a self-directed professional who thrives in a busy but relaxed, collegial environment where good work and good judgment are valued over watching the clock.
The Role
- Draft, format, and proofread family law pleadings, motions, agreements, financial affidavits, and correspondence.
- Prepare and maintain Connecticut family court filings, including dissolution, custody, support, and post-judgment modification matters.
- Organize and manage case files, discovery, exhibits, and trial preparation materials.
- Assist attorneys with financial summaries and child support / alimony worksheets.
- Communicate professionally and compassionately with clients, courts, and opposing counsel.
- Track deadlines, manage calendars, and keep cases moving without close supervision.
What We’re Looking For
- A true self-manager — someone who can prioritize, take ownership of their caseload, and follow through with minimal oversight.
- Prior paralegal or legal support experience, ideally in family law or litigation (Connecticut experience a strong plus).
- Strong legal writing, drafting, and proofreading skills.
- Familiarity with Connecticut family court procedures and e-filing preferred.
- Excellent organization, attention to detail, and the ability to juggle multiple matters at once.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PDF tools.
- A professional, client-centered attitude and the discretion to handle sensitive matters.
Why Work With Us
- Full-time position with paid vacation time.
- A busy but relaxed, supportive working environment — we work hard without the high-pressure tension of a big firm.
- Autonomy and trust: we hire capable people and let them do their best work.
- A locally owned firm where your contributions are seen and valued.
- A collaborative team that genuinely has each other’s backs.
