Responsibilities
- Assist healthcare providers with patient intake, including gathering medical histories and recording vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
- Prepare examination rooms and ensure all necessary supplies and equipment are ready for patient visits.
- Perform basic clinical procedures such as phlebotomy (blood draws), medication administration, and wound care under supervision.
- Manage electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems) accurately by documenting patient information, medical histories, treatment plans, and ICD coding for diagnoses.
- Support patient service efforts by answering questions, providing clear instructions, and ensuring a positive experience throughout their visit.
- Handle administrative duties including scheduling appointments, managing medical records, verifying insurance information, and assisting with billing processes.
- Maintain compliance with infection control protocols and ensure all clinical areas are sanitized according to health standards.
- Maintain cleanliness of office during downtime
Experience
- Proven experience working as a Medical Assistant in outpatient clinics or hospital settings.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems and electronic health records management is essential for accurate documentation.
- Prior experience in hospital medicine or inpatient settings enhances your ability to support complex patient needs effectively.
- Knowledge of pharmacology principles and medication administration procedures is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated competence in phlebotomy, vital signs collection, ICD coding, and medical documentation practices.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and medical-surgical procedures to support comprehensive patient care.
