About the Role
MRBG is seeking a Finance & Accounting Associate who dives into the details without losing the broader picture. Responsibilities
- Build trusted client relationships and partner across the MRBG team to deliver high-impact financial and operational results.
- Present insights and recommendations clearly to earn client buy-in.
- Attend client and internal meetings as needed, including some outside standard business hours.
- Quickly integrate into client engagements and processes to add immediate value.
- Analyze financial and business data to surface risks, gaps, and root causes.
- Develop tailored recommendations aligned to client needs and constraints.
- Support the Associate Director on client assessments and discovery.
- Execute recommendations through detailed plans, delivering sustainable organizational change.
- Manage a wide range of client engagements, from day-to-day operational support to specialized projects.
- Coach client teams through implementation to ensure adoption and lasting success.
- Apply Plan–Do–Check–Adjust (PDCA) thinking, adapting proactively to shifting priorities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Master’s in a specialized business field is a plus.
- Relevant certifications (CPA, CMA, CFA) preferred.
Required Skills
- 2 years in accounting, financial analysis, or a related discipline.
- Solid foundation in accounting and core financial concepts.
- Familiarity across business functions, including Accounting, Auditing, Budgeting, Cost Accounting, Finance, and Strategic Planning.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and commercial accounting systems (QuickBooks, ERP platforms).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for client and team interactions.
- Highly analytical, with a track record of creative problem-solving and sound judgment.
Preferred Skills
- Master’s in a specialized business field is a plus.
- Relevant certifications (CPA, CMA, CFA) preferred.
Pay range and compensation package
This role is paid a percentage commission on all hours billed to clients. Employees have the freedom to set their weekly hours. Benefits are available to full-time employees (minimum 30 billable hours per week). Estimated Annual Earnings: $28,000 - $101,000. See Compensation section below.
