Middle School Boys Basketball Coach

Job Summary

Position is responsible for coaching student athletes in basketball techniques to prepare them for events. Position motivates student athletes to develop an appreciation of the sport.

Essential Duties

• Ability to effectively teach fundamental skills, strategies, concepts, and conditioning for middle school level student-athletes.
• Handles interactions with student athletes and adults with professionalism and integrity.
• Models and supports the mission of educational athletics.
• Possesses the character qualities that are required for leading in school and community.
• Maintains a focus on player development, leadership, and character.
• Establishes and maintains standards of pupil behavior and provides proper supervision of students at all times.
• Follows established procedures in the event of an injury.
• Works with the athletics director in scheduling facilities for practices.
• Models good sportsmanship behavior and maintains appropriate conduct towards players, officials, and spectators.
• Participates in special activities that may include parent’s night, banquets, award nights, and pep assemblies.
• Ability to work directly with Manchester Youth Basketball Program.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities Required)

• Preferred candidates will have coaching experience. (Not Required)
• Must possess effective coaching skills.
• Must possess the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school
• administrators, parents, and students.
• Must complete and pass a full criminal background check.
• Must complete/meet all requirements of the employee hiring process. This is an EDUStaff position, unless you are a Manchester Community School employee.
