Position Description: Responsible for supporting daily HR operations while ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing. This role serves as a key point of contact for employees regarding policies, benefits, and compensation, and helps maintain compliance with applicable labor laws and organizational policies.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Human Resources Coordination
- Assist with recruitment activities including posting jobs, scheduling interviews, and onboarding new hires
- Maintain employee records and HRIS systems, ensuring data accuracy and confidentiality
- Support benefits administration (enrollments, changes, terminations, and employee inquiries)
- Coordinate employee training, performance reviews, and engagement initiatives
- Prepare HR-related reports and documentation; including, but not limited to, fingerprinting (CHRISS) and Registry of Educational Personnel (REP)
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws
- Maintain Board policies, keeping them updated as needed
- Title IX Coordinator
Payroll Administration
- Process semi-monthly payroll accurately and on time
- Maintain payroll records including wages, deductions, bonuses, retirement, and tax information
- Review and audit timesheets for accuracy and completeness
- Coordinate with Finance for payroll reconciliation and reporting
- Manage payroll-related inquiries and resolve discrepancies
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations and reporting requirements (e.g., W-2s, ORS)
Employee Support
- Serve as a point of contact for employee questions related to payroll, benefits, and HR policies
- Assist in resolving employee concerns and escalate when appropriate
- Support employee offboarding processes, including final pay and exit documentation
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate’s Degree, 60 college credits or Professional Certificate - Preferred
- Experienced working in a school setting preferred
- Willingness to work towards Human Resource Specialist certification from MSBO
- Possesses strong interpersonal skills in working with the school community, staff, and external agencies
- Maintains a high level of confidentiality, as well as personal and professional flexibility
- Adherence to assigned schedule (payroll) and dependable attendance is required
- Possesses strong organizational, and oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrates knowledge of office management, planning and scheduling
- Demonstrates high level of proficiency in computer skills and productivity software including spreadsheets, databases, and word processing

The employee frequently is required to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear. Requires regular attendance and/or physical presence at the job.

Compensation: $50,000.00 - $65,000.00 - determination on experience

Hours: Generally Monday - Friday 8 hours/day, year round
