What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cook position at Manawa Community Living Center?
Manawa Community Living Center is currently hiring for a cook position.
We are looking for a candidate that has a passion for food service and wants to prepare high quality meals for our residents.
1. Full-time evening shift 12 PM - 8 PM schedule (32 hours per week)
This role has the opportunity to become full time
Rotating weekends and holidays will be part of set schedule
Job Duties
- Cook meals based on menu.
- Follow modified dietary orders for individual residents. Examples: Puree, Minced & Moist, Thickened Liquids, Low Sodium, ect.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen and dining room space
- Prepare snack carts/water pitchers
- Prepare foods for next day based on menu
- Washing Dishes
- Ability to work independently or with the assistance of others as scheduled

Cooks report directly to the dietary manager/lead cook
Availability
- Weekdays
- Rotating Holidays
- 12 PM - 8 PM
Experience
- Prior skilled nursing or assisted living experience helpful
- Prior experience working as a line cook REQUIRED
- Servsafe helpful
- Ability to operate commercial kitchen equipment REQUIRED
- Ability to maintain a clean and organized kitchen REQUIRED
Wage is based on experience and education.
