What are the responsibilities and job description for the Diesel Mechanic - Brooklyn Truck Shop position at Manatt's?
Summary
Manatt's Diesel Mechanics work independently and as a team performing preventative inspections, maintenance and repairs issues on semi tractors, trailers, pickups & many other large heavy vehicles and equipment. Has a basic understanding of logistical decision making for repairs i.e.: parts availability, shop space, and time management.
Essential Responsibilities
- Perform work duties safely without creating potential risk to others.
- Ability to work in a highly rewarding team environment.
- Willingness to continually learn new skills and techniques to improve skill set and proficiency.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance and thorough high-quality inspections on a wide range of equipment.
- Preform troubleshooting and diagnostics of issues found on inspections in a timely manner.
- Provide accurate consultation on repair solutions.
- Provide high quality mechanical repairs in a timely manner.
- Utilize OEM diagnostic software to assist with proper repair completion on equipment and heavy trucks.
- Consistently complete accurate work orders electronically.
- 3-4 years experience as a diesel mechanic.
- Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
- Successfully complete and pass pre-employment drug screen and physical.
- Class A or B CDL Preferred- Willing to help obtain after hired.
- Legally eligible to work in the United States.
- Must have own basic hand tools.
- Must have acceptable driving record.
- Strong communication skills, analytical and basic computer skills required.
- Availability to work overtime on an as needed basis.
