This Lead Scheduler opportunity is Full Time and offers a convenient day shift schedule. This is a working Lead position that supports the efficient and financially responsible work related to surgery scheduling. Primary functions will be to conduct pre-authorizations for surgical procedures via use of insurance portals. This individual will be responsible for addressing claim denials, sending appeal letters, collaboratiing with the surgery locations, etc. to ensure that surgical procedures being scheduled will be covered by appropriate payer(s). This position will also regularly perform surgery scheduling duties.

- Supervises all scheduling staff and delegates appropriately ensuring assignments are fair and equal
- Assists with functions and responsibilities of the department as needed to achieve cooperation and teamwork through effective communication and positive public relations with patients, staff, and public.
- Helps coordinate ongoing special projects.
- Trains and mentors other Surgery Schedulers

Qualifications
Requirements:
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Current BLS certification
- Experience: Previous experience in a surgical scheduling role, often with demonstrated leadership or mentorship experience. Experience with surgery scheduling highly preferred
- Knowledge: Deep understanding of medical terminology and surgical procedures. Experience with insurance verification preferred
- Technical Proficiency: Strong computer skills, including EHR and practice management software.
- Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional communication skills to act as a liaison between patients, families, and medical staff.
- Detail-Oriented: High level of accuracy in managing complex calendars, documentation, and compliance.
- Experience as a Lead preferred
- Minimum (1) year of experience in a medical office setting preferred
