Role Description
Manakoa Volleyball Club is seeking a passionate Club Volleyball Coach for our girls' teams. This is a contract role requiring on-site presence in Oakland, CA. The coach will lead training sessions, develop age-appropriate practice plans, and prepare players for matches and tournaments. Responsibilities include teaching volleyball fundamentals, implementing strategies, fostering teamwork, and promoting values such as perseverance and good sportsmanship. The ideal candidate will provide guidance to athletes at all skill levels and collaborate with other coaches to ensure a positive and inclusive athletic experience for every player.
Qualifications
- Expertise in volleyball fundamentals including coaching techniques, game strategies, and skill development
- Ability to create tailored training plans, lead team activities, and evaluate player progress
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for mentoring youth, collaborating with staff, and engaging with parents
- Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive, and development-focused team environment
- Prior experience in youth sports coaching, especially volleyball, is preferred
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CPR, First Aid, SafeSport certification, or equivalent) are highly desirable
- Ability to commit to the club’s season, including practices, games, and tournaments
- Passion for sports education and empowering young athletes through mentorship
Compensation: $30-40/hour
