Systems Support Specialist (IT Technician)

$30.11 per hour | Full-time 

Responsible for performing intermediate level systems support work operating automated data processing equipment which has the capabilities of data storage and data
computation using several different software applications in compliance with Management & Training Corporation (MTC) and customer directives.

What you will do 

• Establish and then maintain the LAN for the facility which includes a computer-driven reporting system.
• Maintain the corporate nation-wide WAN connection through coordination with MTC’s corporate IMA staff.
• Maintain WAN connectivity with the local client standards.
• Create and maintain internet connectivity at the facility.
• Establish and maintain internal LAN operations for the computer lab in the facility’s education department.
• Coordinate with MTC’s IMS staff in trouble shooting and correcting both computer hardware and software problems for all facility computer systems.
• Provide staff input on systems upgrades and functional equipment acquisitions.
• Assist in the technical operation of the computer-driven components of both the facility’s staff and detainee telephone systems.
• Maintain accountability of all computer items not specifically assigned to other staff.
• Requires long periods of walking, standing, and moving computer equipment.

What you will need 

• High school diploma or GED required
• Technical training and general knowledge of computers and computer systems required
• US Citizenship or Lawful US Permanent Resident required.
• Five (5) years of related experience highly desired.
• Must successfully complete required preservice training.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record required, unless waive by management.
