What you will be doing: Responsible for conducting direct recruitment activities, and interfacing with other outreach contractors in compliance with government and management directives.
Essential Functions
- Conduct direct recruitment activities, including public speaking; develop linkages with referral sources such as human services agencies, recreation centers, youth organizations, local high schools, one-stops, and churches; participate in center tours; contact potential enrollees to explore enrollment.
- Prepare, schedule, and provide outreach presentations in the assigned area; provide outreach presentations in support of the regional outreach efforts.
- Maintain accountability logs of organizations contacted, individuals contacted, referrals to screening agencies and subsequent enrollments.
- Assist with contacting prospects, scheduling tours, and information sessions in coordination with admissions staff.
- Assist with leading tours, follow up on all attendees with an email, text message or phone call.
- Conduct a tour survey and communicate to supervisor and the center for follow-up
- Assist with the attainment of outreach/recruitment goals each month
- Refer youth to designated screening or other support agencies, as appropriate.
- Prepare necessary and required reports related to the recruitment and retention efforts.
- Conducts pre-arrival calls to prospective students.
- Assist with career preparation period and other new student arrival activities.
- Promote the development of career success standards by modeling appropriate behaviors, mentoring students when necessary and monitoring both positive and negative behaviors through interventions.
- Support, promote, and enforce the Job Corps’ Zero Tolerance Policy.
- Maintain accountability of property; adhere to safety practices. It is expected that the incumbent shall perform other duties as assigned within his/her capabilities as determined by management.
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalency. Excellent written and verbal communication skills including public speaking required. Social media and computer proficiency are also required. Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record required.
