What you will be doing: Responsible for providing structured supervision, safety oversight, and student support within dormitories during periods when students remain on center while utilizing Authorized Paid Time Off (PTO), in compliance with government and management directives.
Essential Functions
- Provide direct supervision to students who remain on center during authorized Paid Time Off (PTO) during the training day. Serve as a point of contact for students remaining on-center, providing guidance, structure, and appropriate support during PTO.
- Ensure dormitory facilities are maintained in a safe and orderly condition while monitoring students in an on-center PTO status.
- Verify and document student presence using approved tracking or accountability procedures.
- Coordinate with Residential Living Manager, Career Support Manager, Wellness Manager, and other appropriate departments to ensure accommodations, at-risk behaviors, and other concerns are addressed to ensure the safety of students who remain on center during authorized PTO.
- Conduct regular dormitory rounds to ensure the safety, accountability, behavior expectations, and adherence to center rules.
- Immediately report safety concerns, incidents, rule violations, or emergencies to the appropriate staff following center and PRH policies.
- Communicate student status or concerns to appropriate staff prior to end of shift.
- Encourage positive use of time and enrichment activities for students utilizing on center PTO.
- Enter appropriate case notes are entered into CIS and send referrals as needed.
- Provide positive, quality customer services to students, staff and other center customers.
- Participate in student employability programs and activities.
- Support, promote, and enforce the Job Corps’ Zero Tolerance Policy.
- Promote the development of Career Success Standards by modeling appropriate behaviors, mentoring students where necessary and monitoring both positive and negative behaviors through interventions.
- Maintain accountability of students and property; adhere to safety practices.
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required one year experience in counseling, social work, rehabilitation or vocational guidance preferred. Experience with youth, excellent written and verbal communications skills and computer proficiency required. Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record, unless waived by management.
