About Us:
Management & Network Services (MNS) partners with skilled nursing facilities to deliver effective reimbursement and billing solutions. We’re seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Reimbursement Specialist to join our team. This role is critical in ensuring accurate patient account reconciliation, billing, collections, and payor relations.
Position Summary:
The Reimbursement Specialist is responsible for the reconciliation of skilled nursing facility patient accounts, including billing, collections, cash posting, refund requests, and payor relations. This position plays a key role in supporting facility financial operations and ensuring timely reimbursement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Reconcile patient accounts and follow up on outstanding claims with payors
- Process overpayments, refunds, and reimbursement requests
- Post all cash, co-pays, deductibles, co-insurance, and interest payments
- Research claim status through payor portals and follow up as needed
- Enter, release, and prepare billing information for electronic and hard copy submission
- Review, bill, and re-bill claims in accordance with departmental goals
- Assist with month-end A/R balancing and closing
- Support departmental goals by meeting key performance indicators (KPIs)
- Collaborate with internal teams and communicate professionally with payors, patients, and facilities
- Participate in departmental and company meetings, training, and quality improvement initiatives
- Maintain confidentiality of patient, facility, and insurance information
- Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum of 2 years office experience required
- Medical billing, collections, or insurance follow-up experience preferred
- Skilled nursing facility Medicaid billing experience a plus
- Strong knowledge of insurance payments, EOBs, copays, deductibles, and patient liability
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and ten-key calculator
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to handle a high-volume workload
- Customer service focused with ability to resolve issues through research and analysis
