What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Outside Plant position at MAMMOTH ENERGY?
This position manages and directs field leaders to build a performance driven Professional Services team; setting the tone through strategic planning and clear, effective communication of initiatives, objectives, and performance including developing and implementing organizational metrics to drive results. (This purpose is meant to be a guide. Duties may vary dependent upon management.)
Responsibilities As the Director of OSP, you are responsible for overseeing Field personnel and all phases of utility construction for various types of telecom projects. You will lead a team of construction professionals to produce high-quality work, in a safety-minded environment. You believe in doing the job right. Being the best. And you’re up for the challenge. • Provide direction to multiple crews and their job site activities
• Review production results against schedule deadlines
• Manage all projects to completion on-time and within budget
• Forecast weekly and monthly production and cost budgets
• Develop project timelines as a team with directors and project management personnel
• Ensure daily reporting of production and projects status
• Schedule the crews, identify and delegate the crews to start their work, review project timelines and expectations, and supervise work performance and job quality
• Participate in the recruitment and hiring process for field personnel
• Promote and support the training and development of all levels of field staff
• Promote safe work environment, holding crews accountable for safe work practices.
• Prepare and interpret drawings, graphs, maps, blueprints, bid documents, contracts, proposals, and specifications. Identify and resolve any blueprint issues prior to and during construction.
• Oversee field supervision of subcontractors and responsibility for their production
• Take responsibility for all personnel and any vehicle or equipment in their control.
• Participate in meetings with executive management team and customers as needed.
• Participate in estimating and bidding projects, contract negotiations, and change order preparation.
• Perform other duties as required and/or assigned
Qualifications
• Safety, Quality and Pride are a part of your day to day
• Must have 5 years of related telecom construction management experience
• Must have a track record of completing work with a high level of quality
• Must be willing to travel overnight to project sites as needed
• Must have a Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Construction Management
• Must have knowledge of telecom construction industry Coax Splicing, Fiber Splicing, Directional Drilling, map reading, etc.
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly with MS Word, Excel and Outlook, as well as the ability to learn custom software
• Must have a valid Driver’s License and successfully pass DMV background check
