The role
as a Principal Software Engineer, you will be a hands on technical leader, partnering with engineering teams to solve critical challenges, define future-state architecture, and establish scalable reference patterns. You will play a key role in mentoring engineers across the company and championing engineering best practices, standardisation, and tooling adoption to ensure Mambu builds resilient, high-quality, and secure software.
What you’ll do
Drive Engineering Excellence by understanding, defining, and implementing core engineering best practices.
Develop and maintain scalable architecture by providing reference patterns, reusable components, and best practices for teams.
Lead standardisation efforts and tooling adoption to improve developer experience, efficiency, and consistency across the organisation.
Develop secure and high-quality production code, review and debug critical codebases, and ensure compliance with best practices.
Mentor and coach engineers at all levels, fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.
Champion technical standards, security, and compliance, helping to implement and improve security controls for applications.
Serve as a subject matter expert, advising cross-functional teams on complex technological challenges within your domain.
Influence senior stakeholders across business, product, and technology teams, ensuring alignment between technical execution and company goals.
What you’ll bring
15 years of applied experience in software architecture and engineering.
Hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability across large-scale distributed systems.
Experience in developing SaaS platforms
Expert in Java proficiency in Spring Boot
Advanced knowledge of software architecture, cloud computing, security, and compliance, with expertise in hybrid/multi-cloud systems (AWS, Google Cloud).
Extensive experience in distributed data processing frameworks (Spark, Hadoop, Kafka) and high-throughput, low-latency data platforms.
Proven ability to solve complex technology problems, applying modern engineering practices to create scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions.
Strong background in API-driven architectures, peer-to-peer payments, fintech platforms, and regulated industries.
