Responsibilities
- Assist with supervising children during playtime, meals, naps, and learning activities to ensure their safety and engagement
- Support classroom management by helping implement lesson plans aligned with childhood development principles
- Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting classroom environment conducive to learning and exploration
- Provide attentive care for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers, including feeding, diapering, and comforting as needed
- Collaborate with lead teachers to observe and document children's progress, behaviors, and developmental milestones
- Support behavior management strategies that promote positive interactions and social skills among children
- Follow all health and safety protocols, including first aid procedures when necessary, to ensure a secure environment for all children
Qualifications
- Prior experience working with children in daycare, preschool, babysitting, nannying or similar settings is highly preferred
- Knowledge of childhood development stages and age-appropriate activities
- Certification in first aid and CPR, MAT and CDA is required or willing to obtain upon hiring
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special education needs is a plus
- Strong classroom management skills combined with patience, empathy, and excellent communication abilities
- Ability to work effectively with children of various ages, including infants through preschoolers
- Familiarity with behavior management techniques and caregiving best practices in early childhood settings
