What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part-time Receptionist position at Malta House Inc?
The Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for Malta House's constituents, and contributes to maintaining a positive and safe home environment for residents, as well as a productive workplace for employees. Importantly, the receptionist must be present in the front office to achieve these objectives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIESGreet Malta House guests in a friendly and professional manner.
Respond to incoming calls and guide guests to the appropriate department or person.
Maintain a safe and secure environment by adhering to all safety and security procedures.
Monitor the sign-in/sign-out process.
Receive mail, documents, packages and courier deliveries and distribute them inhouse as needed.
Maintain the shared front desk/copy area so it is organized and functional.
Support the administrative departments as workflow allows.
Perform additional tasks or assignments as required.
QUALIFICATIONSHigh school diploma or equivalent required.
One year of related work experience as a receptionist required.
Must be very reliable and responsible, on time and present in the front office.
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
Must use discretion in managing sensitive and/or confidential information
Ability to handle multiple priorities.
Ability to be a fast learner and adapt to change.
Must be able to share an enthusiastic commitment to the mission of Malta House, including a helpful attitude demonstrated in teamwork with other departments.
First Aid/CPR and AED certification preferred.
Bilingual in English and either Spanish or Creole preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSAbility to lift up to 20 pounds without assistance.
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk, using a computer, using a telephone and ability to climb stairs are all required.
SCHEDULE: 21.25-hour workweek, Monday to Friday. This is a part-time position.
Completion of a background check is required.
