General Manager Quality

We are looking for a General Manager - Quality to join the team! This is a full-time, direct hire position that is 100% onsite in a manufacturing facility in Columbus, IN.

Responsibilities:

• Direct the efforts of the quality manager, supporting his role in leading both process quality and customer quality staff.
• Represent the quality function at the highest level to customers and to the organization's executives.
• Maintain an understanding of the organization's performance metrics and opportunistically identify application of quality methods to drive improvement.
• Support the activities of product design and ensure that process design is effectively integrated into the development process.
• Support the activities of purchasing to ensure supplier quality is improving and is maintained conforming to customer and IATF requirements.
• Support the activities of technical services, ensuring that their functions meet IATF requirements and provide an improving basis for process control and design.
• Support the activities of process engineering, fostering effective communication and direction to improvement and change control.
• Direct the quality system as QMR and oversee the quality audit administration.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in relevant field is required.
• Lead Assessor Certification -- ISO 9001, IATF 16949 is required.
• 5 years' experience as a Quality Engineer is required; CQE certification a plus.
• 5 years' experience as a Quality Manager within automotive manufacturing is required; CQM certification a plus.
• Practical understanding and utilization of Microsoft Office software.
• Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing expertise.
• Five Core Tools expertise.
• Ability to read, write and explain technical documentation, specifications, procedures and manuals with clarity and precision.
• Ability to communicate effectively in a variety of settings, including executive presentations, customer visits, audits, operator training, engineer training, etc.
• Ability to utilize effective problem-solving techniques and support and direct problem-solving efforts leading to root cause and countermeasures.
• Utilize statistical methods with understanding and confidence for operational improvement.
• Drive continual improvement through POCA methodology and effective analysis and follow up.
• Adoption of a servant leadership model for people development and functioning within the organization.

• Schedule: Days, Monday - Friday
• Salary: Based on experience Full Benefits
