Finishing Operator

We are currently seeking a Finishing Operator to join our Finishing department in Omaha, Nebraska on our 3rd Shift (11pm-7am). This role is responsible for safely setting up, operating, and maintaining gluer and finishing equipment while meeting production schedules, quality standards, and safety requirements.
Trainee-level candidates may be considered. Individuals hired at the trainee level will complete a structured training program before transitioning into a full Finishing Operator assignment.
What You’ll Do
- Set up, operate, and maintain gluer and finishing equipment at required production speeds
- Review factory orders to verify specifications, labels, and quality requirements
- Complete make-ready activities to ensure equipment settings match job specifications
- Select appropriate adhesives and mount/dismount glue pots as required
- Verify Finishing Utility positions are properly stocked with necessary materials
- Monitor product quality throughout production runs and make adjustments as needed
- Enter accurate production reports into computer systems
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance per department standards
- Maintain housekeeping and organization in the finishing area
- Communicate production status, quality concerns, and equipment issues with teammates and leaders
- Comply with all company policies related to safety, food safety, OSHA, and general compliance
Trainee Consideration & Training Expectations
Candidates hired as Finishing Operator Trainees will participate in a hands-on training program designed to build the skills and knowledge required to safely and independently operate finishing equipment. Training may include:
- Equipment operation and setup fundamentals
- Quality standards and inspection practices
- Safety procedures and preventive maintenance
- Workflow coordination within the Finishing department
Shift Requirement:
We are seeking an experienced Finishing Operator for our 3rd Shift (overnight schedule). For trainee-level candidates, training may occur on a different shift; however, upon completion of training, trainees must be willing and able to work on 2nd or 3rd shift, based on production needs. This off-shift assignment is a required condition of trainee consideration.

- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to read, write, and perform basic math in English
Preferred Experience (not required for trainees):
- 1 year of experience in folding carton manufacturing or a similar production environment
- Familiarity with Bobst, International, Tamarack, or Jaggenburg equipment
Compensation
- Pay Range: $25.00 – $31.00 per hour
- This pay range represents a general compensation range for a fully qualified Finishing Operator.
- Actual pay offered will be based on factors such as relevant experience, demonstrated skills, and internal equity.
- Candidates hired at the trainee level will be offered a reduced starting rate during the training period, with planned wage progression as training milestones and performance expectations are met.
