Duties
- Install, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electrical wiring, fixtures, and systems in commercial and industrial settings
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to ensure accurate installation and maintenance
- Use hand tools, power tools, multimeters such as Ohmmeters, and other electrical testing equipment to diagnose issues
- Work with low voltage and high voltage systems following NEC (National Electrical Code) standards for safety and compliance
- Assist in the installation of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and other automation equipment for industrial applications
- Support renovation projects by replacing outdated wiring and upgrading electrical infrastructure on construction sites
- Maintain detailed records of work performed, materials used, and safety inspections conducted
Skills
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems including low voltage, high voltage, and NEC standards
- Experience reading blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams accurately
- Proficiency with hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wire strippers, as well as power tools for efficient work completion
- Familiarity with industrial electrician practices and commercial electrical installations
- Ability to operate testing devices like Ohmmeters and troubleshoot electrical issues effectively
- Construction site experience with a focus on safety protocols and efficient project execution
- Knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and schematics related to automation systems
- Skilled in framing carpentry or handyman tasks that support electrical installations or repairs
- Experience working on renovation projects involving electrical upgrades or modifications
