What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part-time Evening Janitor/Custodian position at Mallard Property Services?
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Evening Custodian to join our team. The Evening Custodian will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in various facilities, ensuring a welcoming environment for both staff and visitors. This role requires a proactive individual who can handle various cleaning tasks efficiently while adhering to safety standards.
Schedule: Monday through Friday; 5:30pm - 8:30pm
On average cleanings take 3 hours a night (15 hours a week total)
Duties
- Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors with backpack vacuum.
- Maintain restrooms by ensuring they are clean, stocked, and sanitary.
- Empty trash receptacles and replace liners as needed.
- Conduct floor care activities such as buffing and polishing to maintain appearance.
- Assist with custodial duties in a commercial setting.
- Support facilities maintenance by reporting any maintenance issues or repairs needed.
- Ensure all cleaning supplies are stocked and organized.
- Follow safety protocols while using cleaning chemicals and equipment.
Requirements
- Previous janitorial or custodial experience is preferred.
- Familiarity with floor care techniques, including buffing and polishing.
- Experience in commercial cleaning is a plus; industrial cleaning experience is also beneficial.
- Basic knowledge of facilities maintenance practices.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Ability to lift and move items as necessary for cleaning duties.
- A positive attitude and commitment to providing excellent service.
