The Position 

We are seeking a CT Technologist to perform a variety of CT Scan Imaging exams, including Body, Chest, Neuro, MSK, and Cardiac CT scans at our Rego Park Imaging location.

As Northwell Health’s affiliate Ambulatory Imaging Center in Rego Park, NY; Rego Park Imaging prides itself on delivering the most advanced and complex imaging care with compassion and respect, playing a critical role towards advancing the care plan for the patients in and around the Queens community.  Located at 95-25 Queens Blvd Rego Park NY 11374, Rego Park Imaging will be Northwell’s largest affiliate Ambulatory Imaging Center in size, scope, complexity and patient volume.  Comprised of both a Body Imaging Division and a Breast Imaging Division, a team of 30 FTEs provide imaging in CT, MRI, US, X-ray, Dexa, Mammography, and PET CT; all used for diagnostic imaging, and many used for image guided procedures.  For more information about Northwell Health Imaging, please visit https://www.northwell.edu/imaging/locations/rego-park

Job Responsibility

  • Prepares patients for examination and explains procedures and sets up equipment to administer the proper procedure in a timely fashion. 
  • Ensures that a questionnaire form for IV contrast materials has been obtained and screens for pregnancy. 
  • Performs CT procedures to include: abdominal, thoracic, neurological exams, extremities, sub-periosteal implant planning, radiation therapy treatment planning, biopsies, etc. 
  • Prepares patient for exam by placing and positioning patient on exam table within the gantry. 
  • Adjusts and ensures proper slice thickness and couch increment. 
  • In collaboration with Radiologist, extends parameters, if needed, within established imaging protocols. 
  • Adjusts CT equipment to capture appropriate field of view and transmits cases to on-call Radiologist through use of Tele-Radiology system, as well as administers intravenous (IV) and oral contrast agents as per Radiologist order and performs venipuncture of the appropriate gauge necessary for examination. 
  • Explains in layman's terms the administration of IV contrast, and completes the IV Contrast Information Sheet with information provided by the patient, family member or health care proxy. 
  • Utilizes appropriate flush technique for an existing IV line, if needed and utilizes power injector to administer IV contrast, as well as recognizes and assists in the treatment of contrast agent reactions and IV extravasations. 
  • Performs routine x-ray procedures as needed.

  • Ensure that Patient Safety, particularly related to Patient Identification, is included in each patient experience.
  • Foster positive communication, create positive patient experiences, and deliver Service Excellence during every patient interaction.
  • Aligning Imaging’s strategic vision to meet the needs of Northwell Health’s clinical programs in the surrounding communities.
  • Strengthen existing relationships, while establishing new relationships with referring physicians and surrounding communities to ensure timely access to imaging care. 

Job Qualification

  • Graduate from an accredited Radiologic Technology program.  
  • New York State Department of Health licensure as a Radiologic Technologist. 
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Registered Technologist (R.T.) required for positions filled after September 5, 2010.
  • ARRT registration in Computed Tomography (CT) required within eighteen (18) months of entry date into position. 
  • Certification in IV Contrast Administration required within six (6) months of entry date into position. 
  • Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS or BCLS) required within six (6) months of entry date into position. 
  • Previous experience as a Radiologic Technologist, required. Previous CT experience, preferred.  
  • Knowledge of CT equipment and protocols, preferred.

Salary : $99,000 - $113,000
